Audit and Risk Oversight Committee

The Audit and Risk Oversight Committee met last Thursday to interview and select consultants for natural gas risk management and natural gas storage. The Energy Authority was awarded the natural gas risk management bid. Florida Gas Utility was awarded the natural gas storage bid. These firms will be recommended to the ARP Executive Committee for approval on Aug. 27. The Audit and Risk Oversight Committee will meet next on Aug. 27 to conduct an entrance interview with Purvis Gray and Company.

 

Cane Island Unit 4

A safety meeting was held at the Cane Island Unit 4 construction site last Thursday for two contractors, The L.E. Myers Company and Reliable Substation Service, Inc. The meeting reviewed Zachry’s safety requirements, as well as safety coordination, rules and documentation procedures for the project. The L.E. Myers Company will work on transmission lines and Reliable Substation Service, Inc. will work on the Cane Island substation. Contact: Jim Hay

 

Interim Audit

FMPA’s exteal auditors from Purvis Gray and Company completed on-site work for the Agency’s interim audit last Friday. The auditors will retu to FMPA’s office on Nov. 2 for year-end audit work. Contact: Mark Larson

 

Information Systems Audit

FMPA met with representatives from Protiviti last Monday to discuss the first draft of the Information Systems audit. Contact: Mark Larson

 

Fitch Ratings

Mark Larson met with representatives of Fitch Ratings via conference call last Thursday to provide an update on FMPA’s liquidity status. He received several positive comments from Fitch representatives about their experience attending the FMPA-FMEA Annual Conference.

 

All-Requirements 101

Online registration for the All-Requirements 101 seminar is now available. All-Requirements 101 is a one and one-half day free seminar designed to give participants a thorough understanding of FMPA’s largest wholesale power supply project, All-Requirements. The seminar will be presented Sept. 15 and Sept. 16.
