LAST WEEK

ARP, Tri-City Credit Ratings
Moody’s Investors Service downgraded the credit ratings of two of FMPA’s power supply projects last Tuesday. The All-Requirements Project (ARP) and Tri-City Project revenue bonds were downgraded to A2 from A1 with a stable rating outlook. In light of recent events in the U.S. and world economy, Moody’s has adopted a more conservative approach to credit ratings. The methodology for how certain aspects of the public power industry are rated has changed, and standards have been raised. Despite the downgrade, the ARP and Tri-City Project’s credit is still strong, and FMPA continues to maintain an excellent operating record and a solid history of financial stability. FMPA and its members are evaluating the situation and may respond, as necessary, to support the long-term credit ratings of each power supply project. The credit ratings for FMPA’s other power supply projects, including Stanton, Stanton II and St. Lucie, remain unchanged. Contact: Mark Larson
