Advanced Roofing completed installation of the solar panels and is finishing installation of the panel wiring. The company is scheduled to perform final tests on the equipment Dec. 23. THIS WEEK

Holiday Office Closures

FMPA’s offices will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of the Christmas holiday. Best wishes to all for a safe and happy holiday.

CR3 Outage Update

A repair team continued work last week to determine the root cause of cracks in the containment building of Crystal River Unit 3. The team plans to complete an engineering analysis in time to begin physical repairs in mid-January. Contractors on the steam turbine project will complete their work with the testing of power uprate components in late-December. Weld testing on the steam generator replacement indicated that a number of welds will require rework. Consequently, installation of the steam generator will be delayed into January. A new on-line date for the unit will be determined once containment building repair teams complete the engineering analysis in January. Contact: David Schumann
