LAST WEEK
Twitter Analysis
FMPA’s Public Relations Department recently met to discuss whether there is a business justification for creating an FMPA Twitter account. Diane Nelson performed research and analysis into how other electric utilities and joint action agencies use Twitter, a text message service that allows companies and individuals to communicate with interested followers. After discussing the analysis, the Public Relations staff concluded that while Twitter offers some potential for enhancing FMPA’s publicity efforts, at this time, the value of that opportunity may not outweigh the time commitment of maintaining a Twitter presence. The team agreed that installing a social sharing extension on FMPA.com would provide value relative to the minor time commitment for installing it. Contact: Mark McCain

All-Requirements Project February Load Statistics
The All-Requirements Project’s peak for February was 1,012 MW, which occurred Feb. 18 between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. The project’s load factor for February was 59%. Load factor is a ratio of actual energy (MWh) used during the period versus what would have been consumed if demand was at peak for the entire period. A higher load factor indicates more effective system utilization and results in lower average costs. The month’s peak was 98% of the budgeted peak, and energy was 97% of the budget. A graph showing the All-Requirements Project hourly load for February is available on the Member Portal. Contact: Jim Atz
