Member Relations Survey Report

The results of FMPA’s 2014 Board of Directors Member Relations Survey were distributed to the Board of Directors and are posted on the Member Portal. FMPA’s Board of Directors designated “foster a positive communication culture as one of four major strategic goals and approved conducting this survey as a strategy to reach that goal. Additionally, measurable target Db calls for FMPA to “maintain member satisfaction at a level above the Member Relations Survey’s 12-year average of 3.3 for overall satisfaction of members toward their relationship with FMPA staff. FMPA’s score in 2014 was 3.41, which exceeds the target. FMPA will measure its progress again in 2016. Thank you to all the members who participated in this year’s survey. Contact: Mark McCain

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is exploring options for possible divestiture of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in a way that would preserve public ownership of the utility, TVA President and CEO Bill Johnson said last Tuesday during a conference call to discuss TVA’s second quarter financial results. The OMB suggested in the White House’s budget plan for fiscal 2015 that the federal govement should consider transferring or selling TVA to state and local govements, power cooperatives or energy companies in the Tennessee Valley. In collaboration with an OMB financial expert, TVA has prepared a strategic review that explores numerous options for a different form of ownership, Johnson said. During the course of the strategic review, OMB’s focus changed from privatization of TVA to continuation of a public power model, he said.
