Cane Island Maintenance
The engine from Unit 1 at the Cane Island Power Park was removed last Tuesday for maintenance and system upgrades. This is only the third time in its 25-year history that the engine has been removed, proving excellent reliability. The planned maintenance outage is scheduled to be complete on June 16. Finance Committee
FMPA’s Finance Committee met last Wednesday and approved the All-Requirements Project budget. The budget will be recommended to the Executive Committee for final approval at the June Governing Board meeting. The full agenda package is available on the Portal. Contact: Linda Howard

APPA Virtual Summit & Business Meeting
The American Public Power Association’s (APPA) Virtual Summit and Business Meeting begins on Monday and runs through Wednesday. The virtual conference is taking the place of APPA’s National Conference. The conference is an opportunity to learn about and discuss issues impacting the public power communities and celebrate leadership and innovation. Additional information can be found on APPA’s website.

Reliability Support
Ian Beason, Angel Rivera-Lopez and Mike McCleary travel to Starke on Wednesday through Friday to patrol three feeders and provide suggestions for reliability. One of FMPA’s Management Goals is to help members enhance the reliability of their systems.

ARP Telephonic Rate Workshop
The ARP Executive Committee meets Thursday at 2 p.m. via conference call to review May’s ARP rate calculation. Contact: Jason Wolfe

Lineman Safety Training Program
FMPA is making a change in the service provider for its Lineman Safety Training Program within the next year. FMPA’s Member Services Advisory Committee made this recommendation to enhance the program and reduce costs, and FMPA’s Board of Directors concurred in providing the one-year notice to the current provider. To discuss some transition issues regarding the training portion of the program, FMPA will be arranging a teleconference with members that have the need to enroll lineworkers in the apprentice training program. Distribution Reliability Roundtable
Registration is open for FMPA’s Distribution Reliability Roundtable on August 13 at 9 a.m. in FMPA’s Orlando office. The roundtable is an opportunity to discuss distribution reliability related topics including FMPA’s reliability reporting process, program definitions and interpretations. Registration is free, and lunch will be provided. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and a teleconference option is available for those who prefer to dial in. Contact: Cairo Vanegas
