FPL Transmission Rate Case
Florida Power and Light (FPL) submitted a request in fall 2019 for a transmission rate increase.  They are expecting an increase in transmission lines to support growth, storm hardening, and new solar generation development in their system. Initial proposals suggest the rates could more than double in the next five years, and interim rates took effect in April. Since filing the initial case, FPL has modified their request and is working with FMPA and some of the Florida co-ops on a potential multi-year rate settlement.  A FERC judge has been appointed and is overseeing the process.
