Florida Trend Magazine’s Florida 500
OUC’s Clint Bullock, FMEA’s Amy Zubaly and FMPA’s Jacob Williams are featured in Florida Trend magazine’s annual list of the 500 most influential business leaders. Each year, the magazine highlights a list of influential leaders in Florida. Clint, Amy and Jacob play an important role in the energy industry and telling the story of public power. Jacob credits the efforts of members and FMPA team for making this distinction possible. Congratulations to Jacob, Amy, and Clint for this recognition.

AMI Workshop
FMPA hosted an AMI Workshop last Tuesday in FMPA’s Orlando Office. The workshop was well-attended with 41 members and FMPA received valuable input from members on joint-action opportunities in AMI. FMPA will send a post-workshop survey to participants this week to quantify member feedback on various AMI options. Contact: Mark McCain

Cane Island Unit 3 Planned Outage
Cane Island Unit 3 began its planned fall outage last week. The borescope inspection and steam turbine generator inspection were completed last Friday. Both inspections were successful and approved by General Electric to run until the next major inspection in fall 2021. The unit is expected to be back online by Saturday. Contact: David Schumann

Value of Municipal Utility
Jacob Williams presents on the value of municipal utility at the Newberry City Commission on Monday and at Leesburg Lakefront TV show on Wednesday. The show will also feature a conversation between Leesburg City Commissioner Dan Robuck and City Manager Al Minner. The show will be available for members to view in October.

Fall Compliance Workshop
FMPA hosts its annual Compliance Workshop on Tuesday and Wednesday in FMPA’s Orlando Office. The workshop will feature guest presenters from the Southeastern Electric Reliability Corporation (SERC) and will include a Q&A session for members. FWELF Podcast
Linda Howard appears on the Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum (FWELF) podcast on Wednesday. The interview will discuss Linda’s career in energy and offer advice to women in the industry. The podcast will stream live on FWELF’s Facebook.

Year-end Plant Inventory
FMPA’s Audit Department assists with the year-end audit inventory observation at Treasure Coast Energy Center and Stock Island on Wednesday. Contact: Liyuan Woerner

Member Relations Survey
Members are encouraged to respond to FMPA’s 2020 Member Relations Survey by Wednesday. FMPA values its relationship with members and is committed to delivering on its mission for the benefit of members and the customers they serve. The survey gives an opportunity for members to provide input into how FMPA is delivering on its mission and how we can continue helping members. Public Power Cybersecurity Scorecard
Twenty member cities have completed APPA’s Public Power Cybersecurity Scorecard since 2019. The last day to complete the scorecard before it transitions to a paid service offering is Wednesday. FMPA will continue to work with members to complete the 14-question scorecard. Contact: Carter Manucy

Reliable Public Power Provider
Applications for the American Public Power Association’s Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) designation close on Wednesday. FMPA members are encouraged to visit APPA’s website to apply. Members with questions can reach out to Cairo Vanegas.
