Relay Magazine Features the Florida Municipal Solar Project
The Florida Municipal Electric Association featured the Florida Municipal Solar Project in its current edition of Relay magazine. The story titled “Powered by the Sun” describes how 16 Florida cities came together to form one of the largest municipal-backed solar projects in the nation and the benefits of working together to bring affordable solar to customers. New Money Bond RFP
FMPA recently issued a request for proposals (RFP) for a new money bond to help the All-Requirements Project (ARP) finance long-term capital items and replace their lines of credit with long-term financing. The RFP is posted on FMPA’s website. Proposals are due by Dec. 23. Contact: Rich Popp

Municipal Disclosure Training
FMPA’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Finance Committee and FMPA team meet Monday at 1 p.m. via Microsoft Teams for the Municipal Disclosure training. The purpose of the workshop is to provide training on municipal disclosure rules and policies and procedures. A recording will be available on FMPA’s website after the meeting. Those who are unable to attend can watch the recording and inform Linda Howard and Jody Finklea after they complete the training. Contact: Linda Howard

Member City Visit
Cairo Vanegas travels to Williston on Wednesday to train lineworkers on the operation and maintenance of reclosers.

FMEA Board Meeting
The Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) will hold a Board meeting at FMPA’s Orlando office on Wednesday at noon.

Finance Committee

Safety by Design
FMPA hosts its sixth “Safety by Design” webinar on Dec. 11 via distant learning. The session, “Confined Spaces,” will define confined spaces and address safe entry procedures that must be maintained. This webinar was originally scheduled for Dec. 4. Members who already registered for the event do not have to register again. Other interested members can register on FMPA’s website until Dec. 9.
