Fluent in Floridian Podcast
Jacob Williams participated in a podcast episode with Fluent in Floridian, which was published last week. The podcast series highlights influential leaders in Florida, who make a difference in people’s lives. In this episode, Jacob shares his background, the role FMPA and its members play in providing affordable, reliable and clean power to customers, and importance of diversity, equity and inclusion. Lake Worth Beach Alternate Board Representative
Lake Worth Beach appointed Brian King, Assistant Director of Power Generation last week as the city’s alternate to FMPA’s Board of Directors. Ed Liberty will continue to serve as Lake Worth Beach’s primary representative. Contact: Jacob Williams

Finance Committee
FMPA’s Finance Committee met last Wednesday and approved five action items. The full agenda package is available on the Portal. Contact: Linda Howard

Board of Directors
FMPA’s Board of Directors met last Thursday and approved two action items. The full agenda package is available on the Portal. Contact: Jacob Williams

Executive Committee
The ARP Executive Committee met last Thursday and approved four action items. The full agenda package is available on the Portal. Contact: Jacob Williams

Nominating Committee
FMPA’s Board of Directors appointed three members to the Nominating Committee last Thursday to recommend a slate of officers for 2021-2022. The Board appointed Howard McKinnon from the Town of Havana, Joe Bunch from New Smyrna Beach and John Tompeck from Fort Pierce. In accordance with the Agency’s By-Laws, the Nominating Committee is composed of three directors: one representing small utilities, one representing medium-sized utilities and one representing large utilities based on electric sales. Solar II Project Chair Elections
The Solar II Project participants elected Billy Branch from City of Homestead as Chair of the Solar II Project Committee. All Requirements Project (ARP) Solar II Project participants elected Larry Mattern from KUA as Chair of ARP Solar II Project Advisory Committee.

System Mapping
FMPA is beginning a project to update the system map for the city of Clewiston. FMPA has completed similar projects for other members who needed an update to their legacy maps or did not have a system map. Members are encouraged to reach out to Cairo Vanegas for assistance.

TVPPA Lineworker Safety Program Coordination Meeting 
FMPA, Tennessee Valley Public Power Association (TVPPA) representatives and participants of FMPA’s Lineworker Safety Program meet Tuesday at 11 a.m. via Teams to coordinate details and prepare for the program to launch July 1, 2021. The program will allow FMPA members access to quality, affordable training, and members that subscribe to the program will get 10 safety meetings per year at their utility’s location. Participating cities are asked to return the signed the agreement by the end of May to participate in the program. Contact: Mike McCleary

Meter Data Management Working Group Coordination Meeting
FMPA’s Member Services department hosts a Meter Data Management (MDM) Working Group Wednesday at 9 a.m. via Teams. This is in response to the recent Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Roundtable, which included discussions on AMI deployment, operations, staffing, system integration, data management, analytics and more. The working group will discuss meter data management and data analytics to coordinate additional efforts. Interested members can contact Mike McCleary.

Monthly Technology Call
The Information Technology (IT) and Operations Technology (OT) teams meet Wednesday at 10 a.m. for the monthly member call. Participants will discuss current cybersecurity topics and best practices. Monthly technology calls are scheduled on the last Wednesday of every month. FMPA encourages IT/OT team members at member cities to join these calls. Contact: Carter Manucy

Distribution Reliability Roundtable
FMPA will host a Distribution Reliability Roundtable on June 17 at FMPA’s Orlando Office. The roundtable provides a forum for participants in the FMPA Distribution Reliability Program to discuss distribution reliability related topics including: the FMPA reliability reporting process and program definitions and interpretations. A teleconference option is available. Seating is limited to accommodate for social distancing guidelines. Registration is free. Contact: Cairo Vanegas
