Electrical Thermography Certification Training
Mike McCleary attended an Electrical Thermography training last week. Thermography is a process used to identify potential problems with various equipment through the detection of unusual heat patterns using inferred technology. FMPA owns a camera and is able to help members for special projects. If members are interested in a complete system inspection, FMPA can assist in finding vendors. Mike visits a member city this week to help them identify a problem in their system using this equipment. Members are encouraged to contact Mike for more information.

Planned Outage
Treasure Coast Energy Center (TCEC) began its planned outage last Saturday to perform routine gas turbine maintenance and balance plant maintenance items. TCEC is scheduled to return to service on Sept. 27. Contact: David Schumann

ARP Telephonic Rate Workshop

Finance Committee

Board of Directors

Executive Committee

Lineman’s Roundtable
FMPA will host a Lineman’s Roundtable on Oct. 7 in Newberry. The roundtable provides a forum for line crews to exchange ideas on operating practices, safety, training, tools, equipment and other common issues. The roundtable is open to all levels of utility line crew personnel, as well as utility staff members who are interested in transmission and distribution topics. Registration is free, and lunch will be provided. Safety Compliance Workshop
The next class in FMPA’s Safety Compliance for Electric Utilities Distance Learning Series is scheduled for Oct. 15 via teleconference. The session will highlight electric power system characteristics and conditions that are shared with contractors prior to working on utility facilities. Registration is available on FMPA’s website.
