FMPA Named a Top Workplace
FMPA was named by the Orlando Sentinel as one of the Top Workplaces in Central Florida for 2021. The awards program recognizes companies that demonstrate a strong commitment to company culture and employee engagement. FMPA ranked 25th out of all companies with 35 to 149 employees. Thank you to the FMPA team and members for making this a great place to work.

Clewiston Pooled Loan
The City of Clewiston received approval from their City Commission for a Pooled Loan last Monday. The Pooled Loan will be used to support installation and implementation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) within the city’s electric utility system and is scheduled to close on Thursday. Planned Outage
Treasure Coast Energy Center, which began its planned outage on Sept. 11 to perform routine gas turbine maintenance and balance plant maintenance items, returned to service last Tuesday. Contact: David Schumann

New Smyrna Beach Utilities Commission Meeting
Jacob Williams is attending the meeting of the Utilities Commission, City of New Smyrna Beach on Tuesday to provide an overview of the electric utility’s efforts to provide low-cost, reliable and clean power. FMPA provided a similar presentation for the Lake Worth Beach City Commission last week. Contact Susan Schumann if you are interested in a presentation for your local governing board.

Monthly Technology Call
The Information Technology (IT) and Operations Technology (OT) teams meet Wednesday at 10 a.m. for the monthly member call. Participants will discuss current cybersecurity topics and best practices. FMPA encourages IT/OT team members at member cities to join these calls. Contact: Carter Manucy

KYMEA Annual Member’s Conference
Carter Manucy is attending Kentucky Municipal Energy Agency’s (KYMEA) 2021 Annual Member’s Conference on Friday to address the fundamentals of utility cybersecurity. Alongside other cybersecurity industry experts, Carter will discuss the most effective risk mitigation tools, technologies, systems, and the people and programs already in place that utilities can use to their advantage. Foreman Academy Certification Series
The deadline to register for the third track of the three-part Foreman Academy Certification series is Nov. 18. First time attendees who have not already completed the first track are also invited to register for the training.  The third track in the series will be held Dec. 6-10. The Foreman Academy Certification provides crew leaders and general foremen with the knowledge and tools to lead crews efficiently, responsibly, and safely. Contact: Sharon Samuels
