Board of Directors Appointment
Bushnell appointed Electric Utility Director Steve Macholz to serve as the city’s representative to FMPA’s Board of Directors. City Manager Jody Young will serve as the city’s alternate representative to the Board and the primary representative to FMPA’s Executive Committee.

Policy Makers Liaisons Committee
FMPA’s Policy Makers Liaisons Committee met last Wednesday and heard information items on topics, including: 1) federal legislative issues, 2) energy price increases and the impact on power costs, and 3) FMPA management goals for fiscal 2022. Finance Committee
FMPA’s Finance Committee met last Wednesday and approved Appendix I of the Asset Management and Operation Policy. The committee also heard three information items, including: 1) review of St. Lucie participant audit for 2019-2020, 2) review of procurement operational audit, and 3) annual IT update. ARP Executive Committee
The ARP Executive Committee met last Thursday and approved three action items, including: 1) approval to revised Rate Schedule B-1 to be effective Oct. 1, 2021, 2) approval of Amendment 1 to Transmission Improvement Cost Sharing Agreement with Keys Energy Services, and 3) approval of spending authority for Stock Island event. Welcome, Peter Bunora
Please welcome Peter Bunora, who joins FMPA as the new Power Generation Instrument and Controls Engineer. In this role, Peter will assist with engineering design packages, modifications and upgrades, troubleshooting and projects at FMPA’s power plants. Peter has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Central Florida and more than 25 years of experience in the electric utility industry, including time at Mitsubishi Power as a lead control system service engineer. Peter will report to David Schumann.

Monthly Information Technology Call
The Information Technology (IT) and Operations Technology (OT) teams meet Wednesday at 10 a.m. for the monthly member call. Participants will discuss current cybersecurity topics and best practices. IT and OT team members at FMPA’s member cities are encouraged to participate. Contact: Carter Manucy

Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum
Jacob Williams presents at Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum on Thursday at the JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes. The Forum celebrates women and other leaders in the energy industry and highlights the positive impacts of the electric and natural gas industries. Jacob will participate in a panel discussion on corporate resilience and EDI (equity, diversity and inclusion).

Heavy Equipment and Utility Related Services Bid Award
FMPA’s Heavy Equipment and Utility Related Services Bid was awarded to Custom Truck One Source Rentals, Global Rental-Altec, United Rentals and Sunbelt Rentals. The bid award is effective through October 2025. Members with questions should contact Sharon Samuels.

Battery Storage Facility Tour
Members interested in touring Florida Power and Light’s Wynwood Energy Facility on Nov. 16 should contact Ken Rutter soon. The tour will provide members an opportunity to see an operational battery storage facility and understand the size and scale, maintenance requirements and potential impacts.
