Communications on Higher Energy Prices
FMPA’s Public Relations Department has created communications materials to help members communicate to local media, key stakeholders and customers about the recent increases in energy prices. The materials are intended to help customers understand why their electric bills are higher and can be customized for your specific utility. Contact Susan Schumann if you would like a copy of these materials, which include social media graphics and copy, a half-page flyer, and key messages with talking points.

Pooled Loan Program Agreement Extended
FMPA’s Pooled Loan Program agreement was recently amended and extended through Oct. 1, 2025, due to new and projected activity. Nearly $22 million has been issued to members, and there is a potential for approximately $17 million in loans for capital improvements soon. The amended terms of the agreement created a new lending capacity of $25 million, increased the maximum individual loan amount to $15 million, and replaced variable interest rate language from the traditional London Inter-Bank Offered Rate (LIBOR) to Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR). The new terms will enable FMPA to meet members’ current and future pooled loan needs.

Jacob Williams is attending Chattahoochee’s City Council meeting on Tuesday to present on recent energy price increases and the impacts on customers. Contact Susan Schumann if you are interested in a similar presentation for your local city council, city commission or utility board.
