APPA Joint Action Conference
Jacob Williams is attending the American Public Power Association’s Joint Action Conference on Monday and Tuesday in San Diego, California. On Monday, Jacob will present on rising fuel costs and discuss impacts on Florida’s public power utilities and ways FMPA has managed this issue. The purpose of the conference is for CEOs and senior management of joint action agencies, state associations, their board members and commissioners, and public power utilities to discuss new and evolving issues.

Finance Committee
FMPA’s Finance Committee meets on Wednesday at 2 p.m. via Microsoft Teams to consider two action items, including: 1) approval of procurement exceptions, and 2) approval of preliminary financial statements for fiscal 2022. The agenda package is available on the Portal. Contact: Linda Howard

ARP Rate Workshop
The All-Requirements Project meets on Thursday at 2 p.m. via Microsoft Teams to review project loads, costs and rates for December. The full agenda package will be available on the Portal prior to the rate workshop. Contact: Jason Wolfe

MLK Day Office Closure
FMPA’s offices will be closed on Jan. 16 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We wish everyone a safe holiday weekend.

January PMLC Meeting Guest Speaker
Members are reminded to RSVP for a presentation by Robert Bryce on Jan. 18 during the Policy Makers Liaisons Committee meeting. Robert is an author, journalist, film producer and podcaster covering energy, power, innovation and politics. He will present on renewables, hydrocarbons and the future of the electric grid. FMPA’s Board of Directors, Executive Committee and member utility staff are encouraged to participate. A calendar invite with a link to RSVP was emailed on Dec. 7. Contact: Susan Schumann

POWERGEN Microgrid Roundtable
FMPA members are invited to participate in a microgrid roundtable discussion on Feb. 22 at 9:30 a.m. during POWERGEN International in Orlando. The peer-to-peer educational event will bring leaders from across the microgrid industry together to discuss and share insights on key topics, including microgrid economics, harmonizing demand and grid fluctuation, and interconnection. Participants will also receive free admission to the POWERGEN International Conference on Feb. 21-23. Contact Kenzie Jones to register for the roundtable and conference.
