Florida Legislative Rally
Representatives from FMPA and Florida’s public power utilities are attending the Florida Municipal Electric Association’s Legislative Rally in Tallahassee on Monday and Tuesday. The rally is an opportunity for utilities to meet with their state legislators to discuss the value of public power and issues impacting the electric industry.

TAPS Spring Conference
Dan O’Hagan is attending the Transmission Access Policy Study Group’s (TAPS) Spring Conference and biannual Board meeting on Monday through Wednesday in Washington, D.C. The conference will focus on FERC and NERC regulatory and reliability issues impacting TAPS members. Dan represents the interests of FMPA and its members on TAPS’ Board of Directors.

Welcome, Daniela Delpino
Please welcome Daniela Delpino, who joins FMPA on Monday. Daniela is the new Environmental Engineer and previously worked in the paper and cardboard manufacturing industries. She has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Maine and a Master of Business Administration from The Citadel.

Lineworker Safety Program Steering Committee
FMPA’s Lineworker Safety Steering Committee meets on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. via Teams. Committee participants will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the program.

Energy Auditors Roundtable
FMEA hosts an Energy Auditors Roundtable on Wednesday at JEA’s office. The roundtable provides a forum for participants to discuss, share, exchange, and problem-solve work procedures and policies, best practices, industry changes, equipment and materials, site-specific issues, and other topics of interest.

PSC Commissioner Power Plant Tour
Florida Public Service Commissioner Gary Clark is touring Cane Island Power Park on Wednesday. The commissioner will learn more about FMPA and how the Agency and its members are working to keep electricity affordable and reliable.

Physical Security Workshop
FMPA hosts a Hometown Security Workshop on Thursday at its Orlando office. The workshop will provide participants opportunities to share experiences and discuss considerations for their utilities. Contact: LaKenya VanNorman

Key Accounts Roundtable
FMEA hosts a Key Accounts Roundtable on Thursday at JEA’s office. The event is an opportunity for Florida public power employees interested in key customer accounts to exchange information including best practices, policies, procedures, legal considerations and other relevant issues.

Linda Howard Receives Women Who Mean Business Award
Linda Howard is attending the Orlando Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Awards on Thursday. Linda is one of 21 female executives, who will be recognized for their exemplary business achievements and community involvement.

Member Services Advisory Committee

Human Resources Roundtable
FMEA and FMPA host a Human Resources Roundtable on April 26 at FMPA’s Orlando office. The roundtable will provide a forum for Florida public power employees interested in HR-related topics and the opportunity to exchange information including best practices, policies, procedures, legal considerations and other relevant issues. Purchasing Roundtable
FMPA hosts a Purchasing Roundtable on May 10 at the Orlando office. The event provides a forum for purchasing personnel to meet with peers from other member utilities to discuss work procedures, policies and practices, industry changes, and other topics of interest. Meter Tech Roundtable
FMPA hosts a Meter Tech Roundtable at its Orlando office on June 22 at 10 a.m. The roundtable provides an opportunity for meter technicians and meter maintenance staff to discuss topics such as operating practices, equipment, tools, safety, training and more.
