SERC Board of Directors and Risk Committee
LaKenya VanNorman attended the SERC Reliability Corporation Board of Directors and Risk Committee meetings last week on behalf of FMPA and its members. Discussion topics included security and supply chain issues, preparation for winter storm events and restoration efforts after Winter Storm Elliot, and physical security measures. SERC is responsible for ensuring a reliable and secure electric grid for 16 southeastern and central states.

Rating Agency Visits
FMPA is meeting with representatives from Fitch Ratings on Tuesday to discuss the Agency’s strategic priorities, upcoming asset purchases, and more. Representatives from Moody’s Investors Service will visit the office on May 15 for a similar presentation and to tour Cane Island Power Park. Contact: Linda Howard

NERC Standard eSMART Demonstration
FMPA hosts a demonstration of MinMax’s eSmart tool on Tuesday at its Orlando office. The asset management, inspection, and meter exchange tool is designed to help utilities comply with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s PRC-005-6 standard. Representatives from MinMax will be available after the training to speak with utilities.

Statewide Mutual Aid Assistance Workgroup
The Florida Electric Power Coordinating Group’s (FCG) Statewide Mutual Aid Assistance Workgroup meets on Wednesday in Tampa to discuss lessons learned from Hurricane Ian and to hold a roundtable on energy storage resiliency efforts. Contact Tanya Portillo for more information.

Lineman’s Roundtable
Thursday is the deadline to register for the Lineman’s Roundtable on April 13 at FMPA’s Orlando office. The roundtable is open to all levels of utility line crew personnel and provides a forum to exchange ideas on operating practices, safety, training, tools and equipment, and other common issues.
