FMPA Weekly Resumes
FMPA Weekly resumes its weekly publication. We appreciate your patience during our brief hiatus, and we’re pleased to return to sharing Agency and industry highlights with you each week. Contact: Susan Schumann
Power Plant Acquisition
FMPA (All-Requirements Power Supply Project) entered agreements on June 29 to acquire three plants, with one in Orlando and two near Bartow. They achieve a combined 339 megawatts of natural gas-fired combined cycle generation, and the Agency expects to close the acquisitions in 2024 and 2025. Following the acquisitions, FMPA will control 2,100 MW of generation resources to support the All-Requirements Project participating utilities needs effectively. Contact: Ken Rutter
Reliability Roundtable
FMPA hosted a Reliability Roundtable on June 29, and 31 representatives from 15 utilities participated. They discussed the Demonstration of Energy & Efficiency Development Program (DEED) and reviewed reliability insights from the 2022 calendar year. Municipalities led the state compared to IOUs with an L-Bar of 85.1 and were second in SAIDI with a rate of 69.2. Contact: Jose Bravo
June All-Requirements Project Rates
The average billed demand and energy cost for FMPA’s All-Requirements Project in June was $66.85 per megawatt hour, which was 16% below the budgeted cost. While Participant loads were slightly below budget in June, the lower cost for the month was driven by the average natural gas cost for June of $2.66 per MMBtu being 44% below the budgeted value. The agenda package from the ARP Rate Workshop is available on the Portal. Contact: Jason Wolfe
Foreman Academy Training
FMPA hosted a Foreman Academy Certification – Track 2 last Monday, and nine members were in attendance. The session included topics like working with different generations, executing team building initiatives and understanding and conducting performance appraisals. Track 3 is planned for Sept. 25-28, and registration is open now. Contact: Sharon Samuels

The topic of the workshop was providing affordable housing, and Jody spoke about the value Ocala Electric Utility and FMPA provide to Ocala residents through clean, reliable and affordable energy.
