Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum
FMPA had several representatives at the Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum (FWELF) last week in Fort Lauderdale. Jacob Williams spoke about FMPA’s commitment to affordable, reliable and clean energy. Barbara Quiñones, the chair of FMPA’s Board of Directors, participated in a fireside chat with other industry executives, and Daniela Delpino, an FMPA environmental engineer, participated in a panel with other emerging professionals about the future of the industry.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee met last Wednesday. The Committee discussed updates from external auditors and shared that it expects projects to all be within budget this year. Full agenda package available here. Contact: Rich Popp

FMPP All-Time Peak
The Florida Municipal Power Pool (FMPP) set an all-time pool peak on Tuesday, Aug. 9, with 4,033 megawatts (MW) at 16:29. The previous peak was the day prior with 3,962 MW at 16:20.

General Fund Transfer Survey
Sue Utley recently distributed FMPA’s annual General Fund Transfer Survey. We use this survey to assess Agency members’ utility fund transfers and demonstrate the value that municipal electric utilities and these transfers provide. Please complete by Friday. Contact: Mary Kathryn Patterson

Florida Lineworker Appreciation Day
Florida Lineworker Appreciation Day is Saturday, Aug. 26. This day honors the estimated 6,700 lineworkers in Florida, which includes approximately 1,000 public power lineworkers. We thank each of these workers for their service within Florida communities.

Electric Metering Program – Lab B
The Electric Metering Program – Lab B scheduled for Aug. 28-Sept. 1 at Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) has been canceled. Contact: Lindsay Jack

Cybersecurity Training
The Central Florida Intelligence Exchange (CFIX), Seminole County and the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council (ECFRPC) will host Voting Power – Regional Tabletop Exercise on Aug. 30 at Valencia College School of Public Safety – Auditorium.
