FERC Order 2023
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) issued Order 2023, entitled “Improvements to Generator Interconnection Procedures and Agreements,” on Sept. 6. FERC found the existing pro forma interconnection process insufficient and worsening, so its reforms include increasing pre-queue interconnection information access, implementing a new cluster study process, allocating cluster network upgrade costs, increasing financial commitments and readiness requirements and increasing the speed of the interconnection queue process.
