Relay and Protection Training
FMPA hosted relay and protection training last week at Lakeland Electric. Eleven people from four utilities attended the training about working with protective relays in substations and distribution systems. To learn about similar training opportunities in the future, visit the events section of FMPA’s website.

AEMTEK JEMStar II Training
FMPA hosted a training with AEMTEK last Wednesday. AEMTEK representatives presented the JEMStar and JEMStar II meters, and 24 representatives from four utilities attended.

St. Lucie Project Meeting
St. Lucie Project participants will meet Wednesday morning via Teams. The item for discussion and vote during the meeting is titled “KUA St. Lucie Entitlement Transmission Service.”

FMPA Training Calendar
FMPA is planning the training calendar for the 2024 calendar year. We are conducting a survey to get member input on where to place our focus. Your input will help guide us to meet as many needs as possible. We welcome multiple inputs from the same utility so please forward as you see fit. Contact: Mike McCleary

Lineworker Safety Program
Members can take advantage of regular safety trainings through FMPA’s relationship with Tennessee Valley Public Power Association (TVTPA). The new budget year begins October 1, and pricing for the training will be updated. Participants in the program can expect an email from Mike McCleary soon. Contact: Mike McCleary

FMPA Cybersecurity Event

FMPA’s IT department is planning a cybersecurity event on Oct. 23 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. for FMPA staff members. The event can be broadcast live for other interested member cities. Cities who would like to participate in watching the event can email Wayne Koback.
