FGU Annual Meeting
Florida Gas Utility (FGU) hosts its 2023 Annual Meeting Wednesday, Oct. 11 through Friday, Oct. 13, in Naples. Jacob Williams will speak Thursday morning about electric markets.

FMPA’s Member Services team is aware of an anomaly on missing data in the SharePoint reporting system. They’re actively working on a solution to provide easy access to data. Contact: Jose Bravo
Fort Meade Bridge Replacement
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) recently broke ground on the U.S. Highway 98 John Singletary Bridge replacement project. FMPA assisted Fort Meade with utility redesign and relocation for the bridge replacement. If you need assistance with similar projects in your city, contact Mike McCleary.

Procurement lead Sharon Samuels recently passed her exam to earn the Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) certification from the American Purchasing Society. This certification validates a professional’s demonstrated skills to implement improved purchasing and supply chain practices successfully to function as part of a business solution in an organization.
FMPA Training Calendar
FMPA is planning the training calendar for the 2024 calendar year. We are conducting a survey to get member input on where to place our focus. Your input will help guide us to meet as many needs as possible. We welcome multiple inputs from the same utility, so please forward as you see fit. Contact: Mike McCleary
FMPA Cybersecurity Event
FMPA’s IT department is planning a cybersecurity event on Oct. 23 from noon to 2 p.m. for FMPA staff members. The event can be broadcast live for other interested member cities. Cities who would like to participate in watching the event can email Wayne Koback.
New Headshots
FMPA is delaying having a photographer on site until the Dec. 14 board of directors meeting. She will be present to take new headshots of all board members as well as FMPA leadership and staff. Contact: Emily Maag
