FMPA Weekly Anniversary
Last Friday marked the 25th anniversary of FMPA Weekly. More than 1,000 weekly newsletters have been distributed to staff, members and other interested parties since Feb. 9, 1999, to share updates and information about the Agency and its members. If someone in your organization doesn’t receive the newsletter and wants to be on the distribution list, contact Emily Maag.

Utility Debris Removal Bid
FMPA’s Joint Purchase Project is preparing to issue a new utility debris removal bid. This is a collaborative initiative to help us acquire better pricing and value-added services.  The initial term will be for 3 years with 2 one-year extensions, and the bid will comply with FEMA requirements. If you’re interested in participating in this bid, please contact Sharon Samuels.

Joint Purchase Project Bids
FMPA’s Joint Purchase Project is preparing to issue a new single phase padmount transformers bid and a new overhead transformers bid. These collaborative initiatives help to acquire better pricing and value-added services on these units. The initial term will be for 5 years with one-year extensions, and these bids will comply with the FEMA requirements. If you’re interested in participating in either of these bids, please contact Sharon Samuels.

Audit Updates
The internal auditing team will begin an audit of the Agency’s ownership interest in Orlando Utilities Commission’s generating units. The audit includes Stanton Energy Center Units I and II and Indian River Combustion Turbines A, B, C and D. Contact: Liyuan Woerner

FMPA Joint Solar II Participants Meeting
There will be a joint meeting for participants in FMPA Solar II projects today at 11:30 a.m. Participants can attend via Teams. Contact: Susan Schumann

2024 Florida Lineman Competition
FMPA is proud to be a Gold Sponsor for the 2024 Florida Lineman Competition. The annual event allows lineworkers from all over the region to demonstrate their skills and knowledge of their craft. Participant registration for the event is open. FMEA and JEA are cohosting the event Friday, Feb. 23 and Saturday, Feb. 24 in Metropolitan Park in Jacksonville. Contact: Mike McCleary
