Florida Lineworker Appreciation Day
Today is Florida Lineworker Appreciation Day, which honors the estimated 6,700 lineworkers in Florida. There are approximately 1,000 public power lineworkers in the state, and we thank each of them for their dedication and service to Florida communities.

Keys Energy Services Assistance
FMPA’s Member Services team and environmental engineer Daniela Delpino recently assisted Keys Energy Services with reviewing environmental concerns and regulations for a vehicle washing station in the area. For assistance with similar projects or if you have questions about environmental matters, contact Mike McCleary.

Finance Committee Meeting
The Finance Committee met last Wednesday and approved the depository bank contract extension and the proposed procurement and spending authority modifications for FY2025. The Committee also heard information items about the ARP pooled loan early payoff, an overview of trustee services and the future direction, the pooled loan program new credit provider, an update about the FY2024 budget status through June, the operational audit reports for the accounts payable and credit card audit, and an update from the interim audit. Board of Directors Meeting
The Board of Directors met last Thursday. It heard information items about the FMSP amendments to the Phase II and Phase III PPAs, the notice of the annual continuing disclosure report of the fiscal year ending September 30, 2023, the pooled loan program new credit provider, and the proposed procurement modifications for FY2025. Joint Board of Directors and Executive Committee Meeting
The Board of Directors and Executive Committee held a joint meeting last Thursday to discuss updates about Stanton ownership and the expansion of the Florida Municipal Power Pool services and options. The agenda package is available on the Portal. Contact: Jacob Williams

Executive Committee Meeting
The Executive Committee met last Thursday and approved the fuel management policy for pre-pay gas repricing periods and the early payoff of the ARP pooled loan. The Committee also heard information items, including the FMSP amendments to PPAs, the notice of the annual continuing disclosure report for FY2023, and the proposed procurement modifications for FY2025. Utility Work Practices Rule Compliance Training
FMPA is hosting a Utility Work Practices Rule Compliance training tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. The TVPPA training, which is part of the required courses for the Certified Safety Coordinator credential, discusses the background, overall scope, application, and specific regulator requirements of OSHA Safety Rule 1910.269. Reliability Roundtable
Registration closes Wednesday for the Reliability Roundtable scheduled for September 4 at 10 a.m. The forum allows participants to discuss reliability topics and best practices. Contact: Lindsay Jack

Rigging, Hoisting, Hand and Power Tool Safety Training
FMPA is hosting a Rigging, Hoisting, Hand and Power Tool Safety training Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. The TVPPA training, which is part of the required courses for the Certified Safety Coordinator credential, explores rigging equipment and practices, lifting equipment, hand and power tool inspection and maintenance, and more. Stock Island Appreciation Lunch
Jacob Williams, Ken Rutter and other FMPA staff will attend an appreciation lunch for plant staff at Stock Island Generating Facility on Thursday. The lunch is to celebrate the plant’s operating performance in FY2023.

Transportation Safety Training
FMPA will host a Transportation Safety training Thursday at 8:30 a.m, and this TVPPA training is part of the required coursework for the Certified Safety Coordinator credential. The course reviews various transportation topics, including CDL requirements and applicability, safety measures, accident investigations, and more. Contact: Lindsay Jack

Accident Investigation Training
FMPA will host an Accident Investigation training Friday at 8:30 a.m., and this TVPPA training is part of the required coursework for the Certified Safety Coordinator credential. The topics and activities in this course prepare participants to form accident investigation committees, conduct investigations, determine the facts, and recommend corrective actions to prevent a reoccurrence. Labor Day
FMPA’s office will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day. FMPA Weekly will resume publication Tuesday, September 3.

Intro to Staking/Line Design Training
Registration will close early next week for the Intro to Staking/Line Design training scheduled for September 9 at 8:30 a.m. at FMPA. The training explores the 2023 National Electrical Safety Code. Contact: Lindsay Jack

General Fund Transfer Survey Deadline
The deadline to complete the General Fund Transfer Survey is Friday. The annual survey assesses Agency members’ utility fund transfers and demonstrates the value that municipal electric utilities and these transfers provide. Contact: Mary Kathryn Patterson
