January All-Requirements Project Rates
The average billed demand and energy cost for FMPA’s All-Requirements Project in January was $78.96/MWh, which was 1 percent below the budgeted cost. The all-in rate was 6 percent above the prior month projections, mainly due to a spike in gas prices, increased coal and oil generation, and higher purchased power. However, these were partially offset by strong margins on external sales revenue and participant energy sales 5.7 percent above budget. Due to the Natural Gas Price Stability Program, costs to members were $9/MWh lower than if natural gas had been purchased at market prices. The Rate Protection Account balance at January 31 was approximately $800k. The agenda package from the ARP Rate Workshop is available on the Portal. Contact: Denise Fuentes
