April All-Requirements Project Rates
The average billed demand and energy cost for FMPA’s All-Requirements Project in April was $74/MWh, which was 0.4% below the budgeted cost. The all-in rate was $3.50/MWh lower from prior month projections due to higher sales and lower gas prices. Pool and third-party sales were 56% above budget with an overall ARP benefit of $4.68/MWh. The Rate Protection Account balance on April 30 was approximately $5.8M, down from prior month with 19% drop in the forward curve. The agenda package will be available via the Portal. Finance Committee Meeting
The Finance Committee met last Wednesday and approved the ARP line of credit, selection of debt underwriting services, and the FY26 Agency general budget to recommend to the Executive Committee. Board of Directors Meeting
The Board of Directors met last Thursday and approved the selection of the financial auditors and debt underwriting services. It also heard information items, including an update on FMPA’s environmental compliance and performance, a discussion about the termination of the KUA St. Lucie transmission service, and an overview of proposed HR policy changes. Executive Committee Meeting
The Executive Committee met last Thursday and approved the OUC EMS replacement, the acquisition of the Bartow Energy Center turbine, the FY26 general Agency budget, and the ARP line of credit. It also heard information items about potential updates to the balancing authority and the ARP net metering policy and tri-party agreement. Based on the Net Metering Tri-Party Power Purchase Agreement information item, the Committee amended the agenda to approve an additional action item regarding waivers with solar leasing companies in Ocala. Regional Safety Leadership Training Sessions
FMPA will host Regional Safety Leadership Training sessions in Tallahassee on Wednesday and in Gainesville on Thursday. These training opportunities include four discussion areas to encourage utility employees of all levels to take safety dialogue to a higher level. APPA Utility Salary Survey
APPA is conducting its annual Utility Salary Survey and is seeking responses by July 17. Public power utilities who are at least 50 percent retail sales, with some exceptions, are eligible to participate in this survey. The survey focuses on annual base pay information for 34 salaried positions and 26 hourly positions. Each participating Member utility will receive a complimentary copy of the full final report, which includes a breakdown of salaries by revenue and customer class and regional salary summaries.
