Florida Public Power Reliability Awards
FMPA presented its inaugural Florida Public Power Reliability Awards last Wednesday. These awards, which are based on self-reported data from the municipal utilities from the 2024 calendar year, honor the achievements in providing reliable power to communities. There are four types of awards separated into four different categories based on utility size determined by meter count. Fifteen utilities received a combined total of 29 awards. Board of Directors Meeting
The Board of Directors met last Wednesday and approved moving the October meeting date from October 16 to October 23 to accommodate those interested in attending the 2025 Florida Gas Utility Annual Meetings. It also approved resolutions honoring Barbara Quiñones and Howard McKinnon for their respective service to FMPA and the Board of Directors. The Board elected Allen Putnam (Jacksonville Beach) as Chair, Bob Page (Green Cove Springs) as Vice Chair, Ed Liberty (Lake Worth Beach) as Treasurer, and Lynne Tejeda (Key West) as Secretary. The Board meeting also included the presentation of the inaugural Florida Public Power Reliability Awards and an information item updating the Board about the Agency’s Member Services. Executive Committee Meeting
The Executive Committee met last Wednesday and approved moving the October meeting date from October 16 to October 23 to avoid a scheduling conflict with the FGU annual meetings. The Committee also elected Javier Cisneros (Fort Pierce) as Chair and Bob Page (Green Cove Springs) as Vice Chair. The agenda package is available via the Portal. Contact: Jacob Williams

State of the Agency
Jacob Williams presented the State of the Agency last Thursday. The video from his presentation, titled Mission Possible: Unlocking Energy Freedom, is available to view on Vimeo.

Policy Makers Liaisons Committee Meeting
The Policy Makers Liaisons Committee met last Thursday. The Committee approved rescheduling its next meeting from October 15 to October 22 to prevent a calendar conflict with the FGU annual meetings. It also reelected Bob Page (Green Cove Springs) as Chair and Jim Hilty, Sr., as Vice Chair and heard an information item about the reliability of Florida’s municipal utilities. Member Services Advisory Committee Meeting
The Member Services Advisory Committee met last Thursday and reelected Allen Putnam (Jacksonville Beach) as Chair and Billy Branch (Homestead) as Vice Chair. It also heard information items, including updates on the Member Services goals, the annual Member Services update, a proposal to use a texting service to help reach target training audiences, and an update on trainings and roundtables for the year.
