Behind the Switch
FMPA’s annual Behind the Switch campaign kicks off tomorrow. The video-based social media campaign highlights careers within the industry that people may not be as familiar with as other career paths. Tune into FMPA’s social media channels tomorrow at 10 a.m. to see the first installment.
Florida Lineworker Appreciation Day
FMPA, along with FMEA, recognized Florida Lineworker Appreciation Day last Tuesday. Both groups celebrated the people who risk their lives daily to ensure the delivery of reliable electricity by honoring them with a month-long campaign in August. The joint social media campaign, titled “Heroes Beyond the Bucket Truck,” highlighted how lineworkers serve their communities beyond their job requirements. We’re grateful for everything these professionals do and their dedication to Florida public power.
Winter Park News Feature
The City of Winter Park was recently featured in a news segment on News6 Orlando. The segment focused on the 20th anniversary of Winter Park’s municipal utility, its recent undergrounding project efforts, and its recognition in FMPA’s reliability awards. General Fund Transfer Survey
Members are encouraged to participate in the General Fund Transfer Survey for FY 2024. The annual survey assesses Agency members’ utility fund transfers and demonstrates the value that municipal electric utilities and these transfers provide. The deadline to complete the General Fund Transfer Survey is Friday. Contact: Mary Kathryn Patterson
Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum
Team members from FMPA attended the annual Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum last week. Jacob Williams also attended and participated in a panel titled Powering Tomorrow: CEO Perspectives on Leading Through Transformation and Innovation.
