Social Media Best Practices Report

FMPA’s Strategic Plan action item 5.1.2 calls for staff to “explore emerging communication tools (e.g., social media) to consider applications for FMPA that create positive publicity, build stakeholder engagement and support business goals. FMPA’s Public Relations Department completed the first step toward that goal by developing a report summarizing best practices in business use of social media and a set of suggested actions for additional research and development. Additional primary research will be conducted this fall, prior to developing any specific action recommendations related to social media. As part of this research phase, Public Relations will survey key stakeholders, particularly FMPA members, and will consult with FMPA’s Legal, Human Resources and Information Technology departments to address the Agency’s responsibilities for open govement law compliance, network security and human resources policies. For more information or to request a copy of the report, contact Diane Nelson.
