Cane Island Unit 3
Cane Island Unit 3 achieved a milestone last Thursday when it completed an unprecedented operating run of 234 continuous days without being taken offline. That is equivalent to working 24 hours a day, seven days a week for nearly eight months straight. The unit was taken offline, due to economics and reduced loads. Its record-breaking availability is a team effort between FMPA and the Kissimmee Utility Authority, who operates and maintains the power generators at Cane Island Power Park. Congratulations to the plant staff and FMPA’s operations team for a remarkable run.
