TCEC Liquid Fuel Test
Treasure Coast Energy Center completed a liquid fuel test successfully and returned from an outage Dec. 22. FMPA and TCEC teams worked together to complete significant repairs and replacements to remove contaminated fuel to sell, fix damaged parts and restore liquid fuel access. The team completed necessary outage repairs two days early on Dec. 20, allowing them to test liquid fuel firing on Dec. 21. The test was successful, and the project improves reliability, especially as a backup in the event of issues with access to natural gas.
Cane Island Outage
Cane Island Unit 3 returned successfully from an outage Dec. 21, two days ahead of its scheduled return. During the outage, teams replaced the burner damper, allowing the unit to now run on both simple cycle and combined cycle.
Facility Interconnection Requirements
FMPA updated its Facility Interconnection Requirements document to reflect newly enforceable NERC Facility Interconnection Requirements and Studies standards FAC-001-4 and FAC-002-4. Access the updated document via the Doing Business with Us page on FMPA’s website. Contact: LaKenya VanNorman
APPA Joint Action Conference
American Public Power Association (APPA)’s 2024 Joint Action Conference is Sunday through Tuesday at the Naples Grande Beach Resort in Naples. FMPA Vice Chair of the Board of Directors and ARP Executive Committee Lynne Tejeda will present on a panel Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. titled Ideas for Innovation in Joint Action.
