House of Representatives Presentation
Jacob Williams represented the Florida Electric Power Coordinating Group (FCG) at the Florida House Economic Infrastructure Subcommittee on Next Generation Nuclear last Tuesday. He jointly presented with Sara Dussich, who serves as a project director at FPL and the Chair of the Next Generation Nuclear Subgroup. Melissa Seixas, state president of Duke Energy Florida and Chair of FCG, asked Williams to represent the Board at the meeting as she was unable to attend. A recording of the session and presentation is available here, with the FCG presentation beginning around the 30-minute mark and FCG Q&A participation beginning around the one hour and 20 minute-mark.

Excellence in Public Power Communications
The American Public Power Association (APPA) recognized FMPA last week during its annual Excellence in Public Power Communications Awards, which were presented during the Customer Connections Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. FMPA received an Award of Excellence in the Print and Digital Category for its FY2024 annual report Mission Possible, marking the second consecutive year the Agency earned this recognition for its annual report. The Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) and Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) both took home awards as well. Read more about the awards and winners here.
