Extreme Cold Weather
FMPA would like to extend its sincerest thanks to the Florida public power family and the electric utility community at large for the cooperation and preparation for the extreme cold temperatures this past weekend. The Department of Energy understood the challenges we faced and issued emergency orders to secure the grid throughout the state. Our collaborative efforts supported Florida through unprecedented cold weather, continuing to provide reliable power through the challenges. The Florida Municipal Power Pool peak load this morning exceeded 3,700 MW, which while high, fell short of forecasted levels thanks in large part to the efforts of our Members and their customers to manage electricity usage during the most critical times.

NERC CIP-003-9 Member Roundtable
FMPA will host a NERC CIP-003-9 Member Roundtable next Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The goal is to have collaborative discussion about the upcoming implementation of CIP-003-9, the revised standard governing security management controls for BES Cyber System. Participants may attend virtually or in person, and registration closes Friday. Contact: MacKayla Cross
Member Salary Survey Input
Alissa Novoa emailed Members last week to seek input regarding additional electric utility positions to add to the annual Member salary survey, which FMPA will launch in March. The email included a list of the current job titles and descriptions included in the survey. Members are encouraged to review the list and submit the job title and brief description for any additional positions they would like to be considered. The deadline for submissions is next Monday.
