APPA Cybersecurity Accelerator Program
Beaches Energy Services was recently named one of the inaugural designees of the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) Cybersecurity Accelerator Program (CAP). The goal of the program is to help public power utilities in assessing and improving the maturity of their cybersecurity programs. Utilities can earn the designation by completing the program questionnaire about internal controls, cybersecurity governance and training, cyber incident response, and cyber risk management and demonstrating an implementation of core practices based on all four of these categories. Beaches Energy Services, which falls within the medium category, earned a Diamond designation, which is the highest of the three available designations. Congratulations to all involved.
City of Bartow Presentation
Members of FMPA’s Executive Leadership team attended a special luncheon last week in Bartow where the city had a formal presentation of their Florida Public Power Reliability Awards (FPPRAs). Jody Finklea also presented about the utility’s reliability and how this benefits its customers. If you are interested in a similar presentation in your community, contact Susan Schumann.
RP3 Designation Deadline
Applications for the American Public Power Association (APPA) RP3 Designation close Wednesday. If you need assistance with the process, reach out to the Member Services team.
