ARP Telephonic Rate Workshop
The ARP Executive Committee held a workshop last Tuesday to review December All-Requirements Project loads, costs and rates. The average billed demand and energy cost was $82.98 per megawatt hour. Energy sales to participants were nearly 3% below budget, keeping year-to-date sales just under budget projections. The average cost for natural gas was $4.76 per MMBtu, which was 61% above the budgeted cost of $2.96. The full agenda package is available on the Portal.

Solar RFP
FMPA issued a request for proposals last Friday for up to 375 MW of solar energy and potential battery storage for Phase III of the Florida Municipal Solar Project. Responses are due March 6. Contact: Susan Schumann

Policy Makers Liaison Committee
FMPA’s Policy Makers Liaison Committee meets Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at FMPA’s Orlando office. The Committee will hear three information items, including: 1) update on energy prices, electricity rates and energy-related issues in Congress, 2) update on the Florida Municipal Solar Project and plans for Phase III, and 3) presentation on net metering and proposed legislation. Finance Committee
FMPA’s Finance Committee meets on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at FMPA’s Orlando office. The Committee will consider two action items, including approval of fiscal 2021 financial audit and approval of a budget amendment for the Pooled Loan Project. Board of Directors
FMPA’s Board of Directors meets Thursday at 9 a.m. at FMPA’s Orlando office. The Board will consider three action items, including 1) approval of fiscal 2021 financial audit, 2) approval of Information Technology Risk Policy, and 3) approval of Human Resources Risk Policy. ARP Executive Committee
The ARP Executive Committee meets Thursday at 9:15 a.m., or immediately following the Board of Directors meeting. The Committee will consider six action items, including: 1) approval of fiscal 2021 financial audit, 2) approval of additional pre-paid natural gas purchases, 3) approval of Information Technology Risk Policy, 4) approval of Human Resources Risk Policy, 5) approval of mid-2020s capacity update and request, and 6) approval of spending authority for the containment and remediation of an oil discharge at Stock Island. Substation Services Available
Beaches Energy hosted a Substation Roundtable last month to discuss substation, relay and compliance topics. Several members expressed an interest to expand FMPA’s Member Service Agreements for substation services. Members who were not able to attend and are interested in joining FMPA’s contract agreements for substation services should contact Alan O’Heron.
