Annual Report Kickoff
FMPA’s Public Relations Department met last Thursday to kick off planning for the 2022 Annual Report. The team discussed fiscal year highlights, the production schedule and process, and potential themes. The report will be available in early 2023. Contact: Ryan Dumas


Fall Compliance Workshop
FMPA hosted its Compliance Workshop last Tuesday and Wednesday, discussing reliability standards from the North American Reliability Corporation (NERC), sustainability for NERC compliance programs and critical infrastructure protections. Welcome, Paul Brunfelt, Victor Gaines and Jill Ramsaur
Please welcome Paul Brunfelt, Victor Gaines and Jill Ramsaur, who join FMPA on Monday. Paul is a new Project Engineer at the Stock Island Generating Facility and has over 30 years of experience in engineering and management. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Florida. Victor is the new Auditor II and has over 20 years of industry experience. He is a Certified Internal Auditor and has a bachelor’s degree in management and accounting from Park College. Jill is the new Administrative Assistant and has 12 years of experience in business administration and office management.

Finance Committee Canceled
FMPA’s Finance Committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday at 2 p.m. has been canceled. The next committee meeting is scheduled for Oct. 19.

ARP Rate Workshop
The Executive Committee meets on Tuesday at 2 p.m. via conference call to review All-Requirements Project loads, costs and rates for August. The agenda package will be available on the Portal prior to the meeting. Contact: Jason Wolfe

Board of Directors
FMPA’s Board of Directors meets on Thursday at 9 a.m. to consider two action items, including: 1) approval of proposed new benefits, and 2) approval of supplemental resolution modifications for new Series C loans for the Pooled Loan Project. The Board will also hear five information items. The agenda package is available on the Portal. Contact: Jacob Williams


Executive Committee
The ARP Executive Committee meets on Thursday, immediately following the Board of Directors meeting. The committee will consider two action items, including: 1) approval of resolution modifications for the Pooled Loan Project, and 2) updates to the natural gas price risk management strategy. FMPA Officers Meeting
FMPA’s Board officers meet on Thursday immediately following the Executive Committee meeting to solicit feedback from members and discuss annual performance evaluations for FMPA’s General Manager and CEO and General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer. Contact: Sue Utley


Substation Maintenance Services Bid
FMPA will issue a joint bid for Substation Maintenance Services. The scope applies to services related to the inspection, maintenance, testing, repair and installation requirements for electrical power delivery equipment located in electric power substations and generating facilities. The bid will follow the FEMA-ready process, so members that plan to submit applications for FEMA reimbursement are encouraged to participate. Interested members should contact Sharon Samuels by Sept. 21.


Foreman Academy Certification Series
The deadline to register for the third track of the three-part Foreman Academy Certification series is Oct. 12. The third track in the series will be held Oct. 24-28. The Foreman Academy Certification provides crew leaders and general foremen with the knowledge and tools to lead crews efficiently, responsibly and safely. Contact: Sharon Samuels


Florida Public Power Cybersecurity Summit
FMPA and the Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) co-host the Florida Public Power Cybersecurity Summit on Nov. 2-3 in Orlando. The event is designed for municipal cybersecurity professionals and information and operational technology staff to discuss best practices and new trends in cybersecurity. The event will include presentations on federal laws, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the Department of Energy’s Cyber Strike Training, and more.
