Starke Community Presentations
Jacob Williams is attending a Kiwanis Club meeting in Starke and the city commission’s community workshop on Tuesday to present on the U.S. energy crisis and its impact on Floridians. The discussion will focus on Florida’s unique power needs and how FMPA is working with its members to keep electricity affordable. Utility Salary Survey
Tuesday is the deadline to participate in FMPA’s annual utility salary survey. The results will provide members with Florida-specific salary and benefits information for positions in public power. The survey was emailed to members last month. Contact: Sharon Adams
ARP Rate Workshop
The All-Requirements Project meets on Tuesday at 2 p.m. via Microsoft Teams to review project loads, costs and rates for February. The agenda package for the ARP Rate Workshop will be available on the Portal prior to the meeting. Contact: Jason Wolfe
Solar Phase III Meeting
FMPA hosts a workshop on Wednesday at 10 a.m. via Teams for members interested in participating in Phase III of the Florida Municipal Solar Project. Contact: Susan Schumann
Board of Directors
FMPA’s Board of Directors meets on Thursday at 9 a.m. in the Board room to hear information items on: 1) Inflation Reduction Act, 2) Florida Municipal Solar Project, 3) FMPA’s regulatory compliance, and 4) FMPA’s strategic planning workshop. Executive Committee
FMPA’s Executive Committee meets on Thursday immediately following the Board of Directors to consider the approval of a capacity acquisition for the All-Requirements Project. The Committee will also hear four information items, including: 1) Florida Municipal Solar Project update, 2) updates to FMPA’s financial commitment authority levels table, 3) quarterly compliance update, and 4) a report on FMPA’s strategic planning workshop. National Electrical Safety Code Training
Lakeland Electric hosts trainings on the 2023 National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) on Monday through Wednesday and Wednesday through Friday. The NESC is the national standard for safety in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of electric utility supply and communication systems.
