February All-Requirements Project Rates
The average billed demand and energy cost for FMPA’s All-Requirements Project in February was $102.28 per megawatt hour, which was $3.89 more than in January. The slightly higher costs were due to FMPA’s average natural gas costs, which averaged $5.04 per metric million British thermal unit and were 35% below budget. Solar Phase III Meeting
FMPA held a workshop last Wednesday for members interested in participating in Phase III of the Florida Municipal Solar Project. Participants are encouraged to provide final commitments as soon as possible and obtain local governing approvals by May 17. Contact: Susan Schumann

Board of Directors
FMPA’s Board of Directors met last Thursday and heard four information items, including: 1) Inflation Reduction Act update, 2) Florida Municipal Solar Project update, 3) FMPA regulatory compliance update, and 4) feedback from FMPA’s strategic planning workshop. Executive Committee
FMPA’s Executive Committee last Thursday and approved a capacity acquisition for the All-Requirements Project. The Committee also heard four information items, including: 1) Florida Municipal Solar Project update, 2) updates to FMPA’s financial commitment authority levels table, 3) FMPA regulatory compliance update, and 4) feedback from FMPA’s strategic planning workshop. Foreman Academy Certification Series
FMPA hosts the first track of the Foreman Academy Certification Series on Monday through Thursday at FMPA’s Orlando office. The class will provide crew leaders and general foremen with the knowledge and tools to lead crews efficiently, responsibly and safely. Contact: Sharon Samuels

Physical Security Workshop
Tuesday is the deadline to register for FMPA’s Hometown Security Workshop on March 30. Representatives from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and more will present on physical security best practices and awareness using recent substation attacks as a backdrop for discussion. The workshop will provide participants opportunities to share experiences and discuss considerations for their utilities. In-person participation is highly encouraged. Contact: LaKenya VanNorman

NERC Standard eSMART Demonstration
Friday is the deadline to register for the demonstration of MinMax’s eSmart tool on April 4 at FMPA’s Orlando office. The asset management, inspection, and meter exchange tool is designed to help utilities comply with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s PRC-005-6 standard. MinMax will be available after the training to speak with utilities. Space is limited. Contact: LaKenya VanNorman

Lineworker Safety Steering Committee
FMPA’s Lineworker Safety Steering Committee meets on March 29 at 9:30 a.m. via Teams. Committee participants will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the program. Mike McCleary emailed a calendar invite with meeting details.

Lineman’s Roundtable
FMPA hosts a Lineman Roundtable on April 13 at the Orlando office. The roundtable is open to all levels of utility line crew personnel and provides a forum to exchange ideas on operating practices, safety, training, tools and equipment, and other common issues.
