APPA Joint Action Conference
Jacob Williams will participate in a panel and roundtable discussion about member services at the American Public Power Association’s Joint Action Conference this week. The conference, which is in Scottsdale, Arizona, provides a forum to discuss public power’s policy and management challenges, particularly for joint action agencies.

GIS Working Group
The Geographic Information System (GIS) Working Group held its kickoff meeting last Wednesday. The purpose of the group is to encourage collaboration among Members about GIS-related topics to help with common challenges, share lessons learned, discuss the latest GIS technologies, identify opportunities for joint efforts, and advise FMPA on how it can best assist. Sixteen participants from 13 utilities participated in the first focus group, and they agreed to meet quarterly to discuss a GIS-related topic compiled by the group. Contact: Angel Rivera-Lopez

ARP Rate Workshop
There will be an ARP rate workshop tomorrow at 2 p.m. to discuss December’s rate calculation. The agenda package will be available via the Portal. Contact: Denise Fuentes

PMLC Meeting
The Policy Makers Liaisons Committee will meet Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. The Committee will host Travis Fisher, director of energy and environmental policy studies at the Cato Institute, via Teams, to discuss energy and environment expectations with the upcoming new administration. Interpersonal Supervisory Skills I Training
Registration closes Thursday for the Interpersonal Supervisory Skills I training scheduled for next Wednesday. The TVPPA course is part of the curriculum for the Certified Power Supervisor designation but may also be taken as a standalone course. Contact: Lindsay Jack

Martin Luther King, Jr., Day
FMPA offices will close next Monday in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr., Day. Offices will reopen and FMPA Weekly will publish Tuesday.

2025 Events Calendar
The FMPA events calendar is up to date with meetings, roundtables, and training opportunities scheduled throughout 2025. This includes a variety of training sessions rescheduled or postponed from 2024.

2025 Hotel Accommodations
As a reminder, Universal Orlando has scheduled its Epic Universe theme park near the FMPA office to open in May. We recommend reserving hotel accommodations for FMPA business in Orlando early to avoid higher fees or difficulty securing a room. The 2025 list of hotel accommodations near FMPA is available via the Portal.
