February All-Requirements Project Rates
The average billed demand and energy cost for FMPA’s All-Requirements Project in February was $76.59/MWh, which was 3% below the budgeted cost. The FY25 forward curve was up 18% from the prior month, but the Natural Gas Price Stability Program helped mitigate the cost impact to the ARP. The all-in rate was $2/MWh lower from prior month projections primarily due to an $8/MWh rate savings from margins on external sales, as well as a higher month-end cash balance than had been projected. This lowered rates to return cash to members above the projected 60-day need. As the higher gas curve resulted in margins on the ARP’s fixed gas positions being returned to FMPA, the Rate Protection Account balance on February 28 was approximately $12.1M. Lineman Roundtable
