Starke City Commission Meeting
Jacob Williams attended the Starke City Commission meeting last Tuesday. He discussed the importance of reliable energy for quality of life – particularly in Florida – and presented the utility with its Florida Public Power Reliability Award. He also shared the video from this year’s State of the Agency, which is titled Mission Possible: Unlocking Energy Freedom and showcases the City of Starke Electric Utility. August All-Requirements Project Rates
The average billed demand and energy cost for FMPA’s All-Requirements Project in August was $64/MWh, which was 3% above the budgeted cost. The all-in rate was $2/MWh higher from prior month projections due to lower cash position and higher coal generation. Total external sales were 23% above budget with higher margin third-party sales 42% above budget. ARP costs continue to be projected to end the year ~$77/MWh. The Rate Protection Account balance remained at $0 with a low gas curve and new positions. Major changes to projections were primarily driven by change in methodology to highest 60-day cash need over rolling 12-month forecast and incorporating the FY 2026 budget data. The agenda package from the Rate Workshop is via the Portal.
