Top Employer 2025
Orlando Sentinel recognized FMPA as a Top Workplace in Central Florida for 2025. The Sentinel determines recipients based on anonymous employee feedback regarding company culture and engagement. This is the sixth consecutive year FMPA earned this distinction, and the Agency placed 32nd in the small-sized company, moving up five places from last year’s spot.
WPPI Energy Annual Meeting
Jacob Williams attended the WPPI Energy Annual Meeting last week at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where the organization celebrated its 45th anniversary. He participated in a panel titled Planning for a Transitioning: Perspectives from Joint Action Agency CEOs.
Florida Resilience Conference
Paul Brunfelt, KEYS director of generation, and Daniela Delpino, environmental engineer, both presented at the Florida Resilience Conference in Charlotte Harbor, Florida, last week. Paul’s presentation was titled Powering the Keys: Ensuring Emergency Generation Capacity in the Lower Keys, and Daneila’s presentation was titled Energy Security in the Age of AI: Natural Gas as the Backbone of Reliability and Affordability.
FY26 Per Diem Rates
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) released the FY26 per diem rates for lodging, meals, and incidental expenses while on official travel. The rates, which will be effective October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026, will be the same level as FY 2025.
NERC Compliance 101 Workshop
FMPA is hosting a NERC Compliance 101 Workshop tomorrow. The workshop explores the fundamentals of NERC compliance for beginners and serves as a valuable refresher for more experienced professionals. Contact: LaKenya VanNorman
Foreman Academy Certification – Track 3
Registration closes Thursday for the upcoming Foreman Academy Certification – Track 3 training series. Training will be September 29 through October 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at FMPA. Contact: MacKayla Cross
Board of Directors Meeting
The Board of Directors met last week and approved the FY26 goals with an agreement to revisit one goal with a revision at a future meeting. It also approved the FMPA’s Officers evaluation of the general manager and CEO and the general counsel and CLO as well as the CY26 meeting schedule. The Board also heard information items, including the quarterly compliance and HR updates, an update on the Agency’s social media, and an introduction to Treasure Coast Power Plant. Executive Committee Meeting
The Executive Committee met last week and approved the FY26 goals, the proposed revisions to the fuel portfolio management policy, the quarterly natural gas price stability program update, the CY26 meeting schedule, and the FGT Phase IX expansion capacity.
