August All-Requirements Project Rate
The all-in rate for August was $77/MWh, which increased by $4/MWh compared to prior month projections due to continued high cost delivered gas basis impacts. The projected rate for September is below $60/MWh, due to the EC action to reduce the September demand rate to return $14M of excess FY 2026 demand collections. The rates for fall and winter are higher than the prior forecast due to the need to recover $14M more in FY 2027, a higher delivered natural gas forecast, and revised forecasted load patterns in the FY 2027 Budget. Finance Committee Meeting
The Finance Committee met last Wednesday and approved the FY 2026 budget amendment for the ARP Power Supply Project, changes to the ARP procurement policy, and the diesel fuel policy requests. It also heard information items about the proposed meeting schedule for CY 2027 and reports on the 2024-2025 OUC audit and the operational audit. Visit the Portal to access the agenda package. Board of Directors Meeting
The Board of Directors met last Thursday and approved the goals for FY 2027 and the CY 2027 meeting schedule. The Board also discussed and approved the recommendations from the FMPA’s Officers evaluation of General Manager and CEO Jacob Williams and General Counsel and CLO Jody Finklea. Executive Committee Meeting
The Executive Committee met last Thursday. The Committee approved the diesel fuel policy requests, the FGT pipeline expansion project, the quarterly update of the natural gas price stability program, and changes to the ARP procurement policy. FMPA’s annual Behind the Switch video-based social media campaign, which highlights professionals throughout fields in the public power industry, concludes today. The final installment explores utility communications and features the City of Winter Park and members of the Winter Park Electric Utility.
SCADA Roundtable
FMPA will host a SCADA Roundtable next month at its office. The free roundtable is an opportunity for SCADA-EMS personnel to meet to discuss various niche topics, share system challenges, and collaborate on potential solutions.
