JEA Board of Directors
Jacob Williams spoke at the JEA Board of Directors meeting last Tuesday. He discussed the utility’s reliability efforts, particularly their achievements in reducing their average duration outage while also keeping costs low for customers. He also discussed the Florida Public Power Reliability Awards, which will be presented formally at the FMPA Board of Directors July meeting at the FMEA Annual Conference. 7F Users Group Conference
Jacob Williams presented at the 7F Users Group Conference last Wednesday in The Woodlands, Texas. He discussed the importance of affordable, reliable power for meeting growing energy demands.

Cane Island Outage
Cane Island 3 returned successfully from its planned outage last Thursday, which was two days ahead of schedule. Thank you to everyone involved with this effort.

Finance Committee Meeting
The Finance Committee met last Wednesday and approved the FY 2027 general budget to recommend to the EC for approval. It also approved modifying the origination transaction policy and the Agency allocation methodology for retired projects. The Committee heard information items, including updates on the ARP 2026 bond financing plan and the status of the FY 2026 budget through March. The agenda package is available via the Portal. Board of Directors Meeting
The Board of Directors met last Thursday. The Board appointed a nominating committee for the 2026-2027 Officers for the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and approved modifying the Agency allocation methodology for retired projects. It also heard information items, including an update on the Stanton close, the results of the engagement survey, the 2025 environmental compliance report, and a recap about the Treasure Coast Energy Center outage. Executive Committee Meeting
The Executive Committee met last Thursday and approved the Agency general budget for FY 2027 and a modification to the origination transaction policy. The Committee also heard information items about capacity uprate projects, the ARP 2026 bond financing plan, the 2026 Ten-Year Site Plan filing and IRP policy request, the termination of the NOAA Eco-Discovery Center Solar PV Project, and the proposed amendment to the PGS capacity release agreement. Training Registration Deadline
Registration closes Thursday for the Environmental Air Compliance Training on June 2 at FMPA. The training can be beneficial for a variety of environmental compliance concerns, including discussing how to improve your utility’s reputation as a good steward of the environment, efficiency with permitting, relationships with regulators, and best practices for consistent compliance.
